Lesson Content
Lessons For Beginners
If you're just getting started I can give clear guidance and one to one interaction that I feel you simply can't get from something like a book or youtube video. Often people who are self taught come for lessons because of some serious underlying fault in their playing or technique that they simply have no way of knowing on their own. It then can become a rather large task to go back and re-learn basic core techniques. Please get a tutor when you're starting out so you can get a clear grasp of the basics before you go it alone.
When you're a beginner, lessons will often be based around learning fun and easy songs that build up all the core skills that you'll need for progressing further, with all the tips and tricks along the way that will let you advance to higher levels of difficulty later on.
Lessons For Intermediate and Advanced Players
If you're a more experienced player and want help moving on to the next stage with your music please give me a call. Whether it's getting back into playing after a long break, wanting to work on a specific genre or technique, doing your next grading, I should be able to help.
If you're an advanced player looking to improve a specific aspect of your playing or interested in getting into teaching yourself, then I'd love to hear from you. Especially if it's in a genre I specialise in like blues or jazz.
Grading
Grades are a great way for you to keep focused and to gauge your progress as you learn. For those who wish to gain a qualification, I am familiar with the RGT and Rockschool syllabuses as well as popular music theory grades.
Lessons For Fun
If you think that a slower, less demanding pace of learning would suit you, with an emphasis on fun, enjoyable lesson material then this is something I'm happy to accommodate. It's particularly recommended if practise time is very limited. Music lessons like this are a great way to grab a break from a demanding work and family schedule and have an opportunity to not only have time for yourself but to also rediscover your more creative side.
